Why travel with Eco-Adventures

Eco-Adventures is owned and operated by Costa Rican biologist Carlos Chacon and specializes in customized small group nature tours. Your trip to Costa Rica will bring you up close to the beauty and biodiversity of tropical rainforests, volcanoes, cloud forests, mangrove swamps, rivers, beaches and other habitats. Whether you’re a serious birder or a general nature lover, you’ll learn about and observe new species. You’ll stay at small, boutique eco-lodges with great food and amenities including private forest preserves, spas and natural hot springs.

Amazing Animals

Brown-Throated Three- toed Sloth
Bradypus variegatus
The three-toed Sloth is common in Costa Rica and found in the forest canopy.

Collared Anteater or Southern Tamandua
Tamandua tetradactyla
Anteaters feed mostly on termites and use their foreclaws to tear nests apart.

White-nose Coati
Nasua narica
Coatis travel as family groups of females and their young, or as solitary males.

Red-eye Tree Frog
Agalychnis callidryas
These nocturnal frogs gather to reproduce in pools of water in the rainforest.
